After a month of creating, converting, redirecting, and troubleshooting, my new website is officially completed…phase I. The basics are done (including an email pop-up), but much more will be added and tweaked to make it user friendly. Take a peak and let me know what you think….and don’t forget to subscribe to my quarterly newsletter; you’ll receive a free gift!
Using Fiverr, I’ve also added a logo to my site. For the cost of $5, you can hire a graphic designer to create (literally) anything. Obviously, if you want any extras, such as 24-hour delivery or enhanced design, it will cost more. Given how much it would normally be priced on the open market, Fiverr has become the indie author’s new best friend.
Currently, I am reading Alex Haley: And the Books that Changed a Nation, the yet-to-be-released biography by University of Tennessee, Knoxville, English Professor Robert J. Norell. With a release date of November 10, it is the first comprehensive biography of Haley. I hope to have a review completed by its release date.
Finally, if you’d like to hear more about Alex Haley and get free cookies and coffee, join me at my next book talk on Tuesday, October 20. It will be held at Santa Clara Central Park Library and is sponsored by the Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society. No charge for admission and it begins 6:30 p.m. For more information, click on the flyer.
